A Lee Road resident reported to Scarsdale Police Headquarters late on Saturday with an unloaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver that he had found in his attic last week. Along with the revolver, the village resident produced a Westchester County pistol permit, and a black and white photo of a man believed to be the previous owner of the gun.
Police said that officers immediately took possession of the revolver and “made the weapon safe.” Investigators noted that the permit holder was not the previous owner of the home. The revolver has since been taken into possession and is scheduled to be destroyed at a later date.
